Last week while still in Hawaii I wrote a post for iEatGrass.com on one of my favorite jungle fruits, the mamey sapote. The fruit’s dreamy, creamy texture makes it ideal for smoothies, “ice-creams” and straight spooning. Read about its terrific nutritional (hello, iron!) values on the original post! Below is a re-post of the recipe on iEG, where I write my weekly dating column, The Lusty Vegan, which comes out on Fridays! Tomorrow’s topic? Not gonna give it away, but it WILL take you inside the female brain, which is a scary, scary place to be. (Clearly, I am trying to get you over to iEG, because it’s sexy.)

Here is my mamey sapote green smoothie recipe, jungle style!
Prep time: 5 minutes/Serves: 4

Flesh of 1 mamey sapote
Flesh of 1 papaya
3 small frozen apple bananas or 2 large frozen regular bananas
1 cup fresh orange juice
1/2 cup fresh coconut water

Step one
Throw all ingredients in a blender, blend, and enjoy while soaking up the sun.

Island produce! (These aren't in my smoothie, I just want them in and around my mouth)

Goofin!
